Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre

Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre is an all-weather family- and dog-friendly attraction in the heart of Pembrokeshire. We celebrate the rich maritime, military and cultural heritage of Wales’ only Royal Dockyard.

Get a pilot’s eye view from the cockpit of an iconic Sunderland “flying boat” plane – like the ones that triumphed in the World War II Battle of the Atlantic. RAF Pembroke Dock was the world’s largest military flying boat station in wartime, with up to 100 of these extraordinary planes afloat in the Cleddau estuary.

Learn about famous ships built here through the ages, from the ill-fated Arctic explorer HMS Erebus, through five royal yachts, to Hollywood’s iconic Millennium Falcon.

Star Wars fans will love our scale model of the famous starship from the Oscar-winning film The Empire Strikes Back. Discover how US movie-makers had the original constructed in secret by local engineers in the town’s famous dockyard. Our permanent installation includes photographs, models and unique film sequences never seen before in public.

Expect a warm welcome from our enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteer guides. Find fun activities and learning opportunities for children of all ages. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
