About Thousand Islands Expeditions

Established in 1975, Thousand Islands Expeditions is a Wildlife boat trip operator on the Pembrokeshire Coast, navigating the Islands of Ramsey, Skomer and Grassholm.

We are proud to have the sole landing rights to RSPB Ramsey Island Nature Reserve, home to some of the highest sea cliffs in Wales, which present a multitude of marine mammals, resident birds and returning seabirds. We ferry passengers over to the Island for their day visits (Closed on Fridays), allowing visitors to immerse themselves in nature, over at this incredibly diverse reserve.

Our trips offer a diverse range of experiences for people of all ages and interests. So whether you are a keen walker, photographer, wildlife lover or simply want to experience being out at sea with your family, we have something special for everyone.

Traditional vessels are ideal for large families and private groups, providing excellent opportunities to observe wildlife. So if it’s a day trip onto Ramsey Island, or if you want to visit the Puffins down at Skomer and the diving Gannets out at Grassholm, our boats offer the perfect platform to do so.

Key information

All trips are subject to conditions, and the decision on if the sea state is suitable for us to sail, is always down to ur skippers, and is at their discretion.

Any decision being made on if we can, or cannot sail, is with customers safety in mind.

Accessibility

We do our very best to ensure our trips are accessible for all customers. However, where we operate does require customers to use up to 60 steps in order to board our Vessels.

We always recommend customers check our departure point prior to sailing to ensure they are comfortable with how and where we board.
