Cardigan Castle

Cardigan Castle reopened in 2015 after a £1.2m restoration project. It now has a visitor centre, open-air concert facilities and self-catering holiday accommodation.

East Wing: Sleeps 8

Elegantly furnished with a private hot tub. East Wing sleeps 8 plus cot in 4 en suite double rooms. It is a three-storey property offering exclusive luxury self-catering in this dramatic setting with its unique place in Welsh culture.

Tenderly renovated to provide spacious 5-star accommodation, East Wing’s beautiful interior is enhanced by original features: tread the ancient slate flagstones, rest your hand on the curved tower wall as you descend the stairs, and open the wooden shutter to spy the Castle battlements through the sash window. Listen carefully for the echoes of the past.

Private courtyard garden shared with Gardener’s Cottage. Gated access to cottage entrance and courtyard, not open to day visitors. Guests are free to wander the gardens and grounds of the Castle. Parking for 2 cars in the private car park within Castle grounds. Extra parking may be available on request outside peak weeks – to be prearranged with Cardigan Castle.

Gardener’s Cottage: Sleeps 2

A stylish romantic cottage lovingly restored to enchant those looking for a unique getaway. Sleeps 2 plus cot in 1 bedroom with a king-size bed. ‘Topsy turvy’ cottage with the bedroom on the ground floor and living rooms upstairs to make the most of the views of the Castle grounds.

Private courtyard garden shared with the East Wing. Gated access to cottage entrance and courtyard, not open to day visitors. Private utility outbuilding and lockable storage shed (bikes, surfboards, etc), both by the front door. Guests are free to wander the gardens and grounds of the Castle. Parking for 1 car in the private car park within Castle grounds.

The Coach-house: Sleeps 2

The former Coach-house has been beautifully converted to an accessible luxury studio apartment with its own enclosed patio garden. The Coach-house sleeps 2 in a king-size bed (can be arranged as twin beds): it is an easy-access studio apartment with everything in one room, other than the separate shower room.

All guests are invited to enjoy complimentary access to events such as outdoor theatre performances held at the Castle during their stay.

The private south facing courtyard garden offers an enclosed seating area with a patio table, sunshade and chairs. Parking is available nearby in the private car park for Castle guests nearby. There is a parking space directly outside the Coach-house garden for guests with mobility restrictions.

Y Goron: Sleeps 4-5

Quality, upstairs 2-storey apartment next to Cardigan Castle. A family flat with lovely views of the river Teifi on one side and Cardigan Castle grounds on the other. Y Goron sleeps 4 – 5 in 2 bedrooms. 1 king-size and 1 twin. An additional guest can be accommodated in the twin bedroom on a put-up bed.

Convenient location: walk to pubs, cafes, shops, Coast Path. You will have access to the castle grounds after hours so you can wander and perhaps enjoy a lazy morning enjoying breakfast in the 1176 restaurant.
