Accessibility

Fishguard Bay Caravan & Camping Park – Access Statement

• The park is of medium size gently sloping (about 1 in 15) with a tarmac road running through the middle of it. It is situated on a cliff top and has no direct access to the sea.

• The coast path goes through the middle of the park and access to it is through a gate in each direction. Going southwest from the park the path is narrow and only suitable for walking. Going northeast from the park the path is wider for quite a distance but wheelchair access is difficult as the path is rutted and uneven.

• The park has one main central amenity building and level access is provided to each of the entrances to the building. The doorways provide a minimum access width of 750mm. Level access is provided throughout the toilet and shower rooms although a specific room with facilities for disabled customers has not yet been completed. Access within the remainder of the building (including shop area) is all level with the exception of a single step down into the laundry and television rooms and a double step up to the information room.

• The park caters for tents touring caravans and motor caravans and has static caravans of which some are for rent.

• The majority of pitches are on grass. Some touring/motor caravans are on hard standings.

• Parking on the grass beside your tent or caravan is allowed.

• Tarmac roads service the main areas of the park and speed ramps are placed at intervals.

• There is a tarmac car park in front of reception close to the toilets showers and other amenities.

• There are numerous water points electric hook-ups refuse collection points and fire points. Most of these are accessible by car or within a short distance from the pitch. A chemical disposal point is available again close access from vehicle is possible.

• There is a local bus service at the end of the lane 1000 metres from the park entrance and local taxis service the park.

• Telephone numbers for local taxi service doctor vet and 24-hour emergency are displayed in the telephone box adjacent to reception.

• Mobile telephone coverage is good for Orange but is patchy for most other providers.

• SatNav can be misleading when first coming to the park as many customers report being taken up a neighbouring farm lane. Please ensure you see our signpost on the A487 which is clearly visible at the junction of our lane with the A487 about 2 miles north of Fishguard (in the direction of Cardigan).

Although we have tried to be as accurate as possible and include as much detail as we can in this statement we are always willing to give information on any aspect of the park if this statement does not answer your particular question.
